All in-library programming is canceled until further notice, but 

to register for virtual Fall 2020 programs described below, please click on

  • Please notify us of cancellations in order to allow more children to attend our programs. Wait-listed patrons will be contacted only if there is room in the program.

FAMILY PROGRAMS

Monthly LEGO™ Challenge!

Mondays, Sept. 14, Oct. 5, Nov. 2, Dec. 7.

Ages 5 and up

Are you looking for something fun to do?  Are you up for a LEGO™ challenge?  An email with the challenge will be sent on the dates above.  Create at your own pace and share your results with us by the end of that month.

Please email results to vclkids@rcls.org.   Register separately for each program.

Virtual Craft Program

Select Tuesdays at 5pm

Ages 3-6

Oct. 13, Nov. 10, Dec. 8.   

Pickup craft materials the week before the program at the library and then join Ms. Danielle to listen to a story and make a craft.  A Zoom meeting link will be sent the morning of the program.

Baby Family Time with Ms. Meredith

Under 2 years

Join Ms. Meredith for a monthly resource exchange for parents of babies and toddlers on Zoom! We’ll share useful materials from the library and other sources, including Nyack Basics, and then open up the discussion for everyone to share helpful hints. If we can’t be together in person yet, at least we can build community through Zoom! Parents will receive a Zoom link prior to the program.

Virtual Toddlers with Ms. Elizabeth

Each week, join Ms. Melinda for fun online! Using Zoom, we will introduce basic preschool concepts like letters, numbers, colors, shapes, songs, and more. Then check out our website for additional materials like coloring pages and craft ideas for each weekly program. Sign up for each week separately, and receive a Zoom link on the Monday before. Then attend either day that week that works for you!

PROGRAMS FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL CHILDREN

Family Book Club

Grades K-5

Here’s a spin on our library book clubs!  Every month a new book will be chosen to read as a family.  Each week Ms. Danielle will email participants an activity and trivia question for the week.  Send back your answers and then, after the library reopens, come to the library to receive a special prize.  An email with a reading schedule will be sent to all participants the week before the program begins.  The books are available on Overdrive and Hoopla. This book club will be completed at home.

Join Ms. Danielle for virtual Monday Book Club!  Each month read the assigned book before the day of the book club.  Then we will discuss the book, play a game, and make a small craft.  A Zoom meeting link will be sent the morning of the program.  Books will be available on Hoopla or Overdrive, or by placing a hold and picking up curbside.

Virtual Children's Draw It Game

Thursday, Nov. 12 at 5pm

Ages 5 and up

Join Ms. Danielle for a Virtual Drawing Game!  Parents will receive a meeting code with an invitation to join through Zoom on the morning of the program.  At 5PM join the meeting and Ms. Danielle will give everyone a chance to draw an animal while the other participants try and guess what it is!
